James Gale

Horror Writer, Multimedia Artist & Storyteller

As a multimedia artist, I use stories, art, music, and poetry to explore emotions that are often easier to create than to explain.

Today marks an important milestone in my writing journey: I’ve published my very first short story on the internet.

Final Session is a psychological horror short about Thomas Brand, a man caught between recovery and something far worse. While undergoing psychiatric treatment for disturbing hallucinations, he finds himself confronted with impossible questions when his psychiatrist begins mentioning details he never told anyone.

Writing this story was both challenging and rewarding. It allowed me to explore themes that have always fascinated me: the fragility of perception, the fear of losing control, and the unsettling possibility that some things may exist beyond our understanding.

More importantly, Final Session serves as the first glimpse into a larger setting I’ve been developing: The Old Vale Mythos.

Old Vale is a fictional world filled with forgotten folklore, ancient entities, forbidden knowledge, and stories that blur the line between psychological horror and cosmic dread.

While Final Session can be enjoyed as a standalone story, it lays the foundation for a broader mythology that I hope to expand through future short stories and interconnected narratives.

I’m also working on expanding this website into a home for my fiction. Over time, I hope to build a small library of short stories, lore, and writing projects here, making this site the central place to explore the Old Vale Mythos. For now, however, Final Session can be read on Wattpad through the link below.
