Acrylic Painting – Nothing Matters, Do I?

Acrylic Painting – Nothing Matter, Do I Mock-up

I kept painting the same question: nothing matters, do I?”
Over and over. Different colours. Different directions. Layer after layer.

It comes from an obsession. The same thought returning:
how can I matter?

The repetition is deliberate. The question doesn’t resolve. It loops.

As it builds, the words begin to collapse into each other.
What was clear becomes unreadable. Language turns into noise.

This mirrors something larger: it isn’t just me asking this.
It’s billions of us.
Quietly, individually, all at once.
Each time the question adds another layer, another voice, until everything blends together and the meaning dissolves.

And in that blur, something unsettling appears:
If we are all asking the same question,
if we all dissolve into the same noise,
how can one life truly matter?
Do any of us matter at all?

On request, I have created prints of this art-work, opening up my Etsy shop for general sale. You can find more info via this Etsy listing.
Thank you all for your time and support.

Warm regards,
James
