Two Year Anniversary of Alone

,

I used to laugh when older people told me that the years fly right past them. Growing up, a year seemed to last forever. But now I’m at that age where I understand what they meant.

As today, we already celebrate the second anniversary of my single “Alone.” Even though it feels like just yesterday that it was released, it’s already been two years since I released the song with the world.

The song is about the anxiety that creeps up on you after a long day at work. It describes the feeling I have when I get home, feeling low on energy yet pressured to achieve something. As if relaxation scares me because I always feel pressed to accomplish ‘important’ things with my limited time on earth.

Let me quickly quote the outro of the song:

Anxiety,
Release me
So I can
Breathe

The single has now been streamed an astounding 25,591 times, for which I can’t thank you enough!

Listening to the song now, I do get a little critical of my work and think about how I would do things differently if I were to record it today. However, the sentiment behind the song and its lyrics remain just as relevant. My anxiety is still at its peak right after work, as relaxation still feels like a waste of time.

Thank you so much for streaming the song and singing along. I hope today you might revisit the song if it’s been a while and scream along!

Here’s to more music coming soon…

Warm regards,

James
