Poem – Remnant Love

I wonder if you still smell
Like the first flower in spring,
Does for a bee.

And does your smile
Still light up
The darkest of days
Or did that only ever work
For me?

Hopefully, your eyes
Still shimmer,
Like starlight after
A warm summer day.

Do you still float around
In other people’s minds,
Or are you only haunting mine?

The you I knew
Is gone,
And time does
This weird little thing
Of just moving on.

I know I should too.

But remnants of your love,
Remain the most addictive drug
For which I long.
